VM Pro remove and reinstall procedures 1

I have a customer with IPO 8.1 and VM Pro 8.1 on MS server 2012 R2. FYI: It is configured as one of their Domain Controllers but not DNS.

They want to now use one-x portal and I think I will have to reinstall VM Pro.
I looks like iis was not present at the installation of VM Pro. I assume this by lack of iis sites that were not created and not having an option to select VM Pro Web Component and Web Voicemail if I attempt to run a Modify installation wizard.

I just want to double check my remove / reinstallation procedures

I will back up VM Pro via VM Pro Client> Administration> preference> general> backup & restore tab
I will select all boxes and make sure to save to a folder not within the Avaya folder just to make sure it doesn't get deleted when VM Pro is removed.

I will then run the original VM Pro 8.1 setup.exe and choose remove all installed features and follow the directions.

Is this all I need to back up to get them 100% back to where they were before after I do the reinstall?

iis is now on the server. Is there anything else that I need or any installation tips not mentioned in the installation manuals. I have the installation manuals for VM Pro and 0ne-x. I read something about CGI and iis but not sure about that and I didn't see that in manual. I also have read about tomcat but not sure about that either.

Is Web Voicemail the same as UMS? I don't specifically see UMS for installation but I do see Web Voicemail.

Thanks,
Steve

First of all -> never ever do this on a domain controller.
So request a dedicated server now and install it by the manual.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

OK Thanks. They changed it to a DC sometime after initial VM Pro install.
Manuals only mention of not using it on a DC if if will be used for network messaging but I will have them undo the DC and reinstall.

Thank you.

I would say the easier way would be to just install an application server.

The absolute best solution is to use HyperV on this server. If it is 2012R2 it has two free HyperV licenses. Create the new HyperV server, then copy the Avaya folder from the existing server. Install the VM Pro on the VM server and everything should be there and working. Then you can uninstall on the existing server and point the IP Office to it.

This will also help you with the installation for OneX Portal since you can do it reboot and do anything you want and not affect their main server.

As you need to get the VM Pro of the DC I agree with derfloh that you would be better served to install application server on a clean machine (Virtual PC is acceptable if needed.)

My personal recommendation is to always go Apps sever unless the Cust needs DB integration and/or VBScript ServTech, this is not common.

I look after in excess of 2000 systems to the best of my knowledge we have only one customer using these features.
