Why does Definity flag discards in the "display events" report (for vectors)?

The EAS doc states, "previously entered dial-ahead digits have been discarded via access of a(n) adjunct routing, converse-on, route-to number, or messaging split step."

Is it important for me to know about the discards?

I assume my vector is written correctly and isn't the source of the event; does the event indicate a possible problem with Definity?

I believe that if you have a "route to" step pointing the vector to an outside number, the number is discarded because the Originating VDN does not have the correct class of Restriction (COR) to make a call off switch. Display the VDN and ensure that the COR is of a sufficient level to allow the VDN to make an outgoing call.
Also it can be affected by Capacity, if the VDN gets busy, either by not enough lines/trunks or by the network giving busy - it does not care that the call was not sent - it sends it blind. If you want the call to be pulled back and redirected if busy is achieved, you may want to find out more about lookahead inter/intra flow where the call is taking back and either routed elsewhere using a vector step or an anouncement can be played saying the call was unsucessful and to try again (played from the internal announcement card NOT the network.)
Hope that helps!
