Hi,

I have a 9031DCP currently being used on my G3si. I need to add another wireless phone. I was looking at getting another 9031DCP until I read that to be able to run multiple phones you need a carrier to plug the radios into.

Is there a way to run multiple 9031DCP phones without getting a carrier for the multiple radios? Is there a better choice for wireless off the Definity than the 9031? The group that needs the phone needs to be able to pass the phone around to whomever is responsible for taking calls during that shift and also tell when there is voice email waiting (we have an Audix vx mail). It's not really feasable to put another phone on each of the 6 desks that the portable phone would be passed too, so I'm looking at this solution.

I did test out a 900 mhz phone plugged into a Konexx DWIatt device that then plugs into the Definity to do a digital to analog conversion. When it worked it worked very well. But if it dropped off the line for any reason, it has to be reset and plugged back in in a specific sequence or it won't sync up the 900 mhz phone to the PBX. And the people that are answering the phone won't have time to mess with something like this if it happens very often.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Mike

We have just gone down this path and made an error in ordering an 802.11 option SpecraLink/Avaya 3626. Come to find out we would need an Avaya Voice Processor another 500-

Finally the best option was shared with us by our vendor - the 3631 works on all 802.11 wireless access points. These are less expensive then the 3626 and require less overhead/equipment.

cheers,

Hi Cyros, after looking at this phone, I can see it won't work. Our G3 isn't set up for IP or access points. So I need something like the 9031DCP phone that comes with a radio transmitter.

Thanks

If the DCP works fine for you, why not just buy the $100 carrier?

Thanks, Bavery, I'll look those over.

CL, that is a option, true. But before I bought another DCP and radio and a carrier, I wanted to see if there were any other options that might save buying a carrier. It may be that just buying the carrier will be the simplest way to go.

Thanks

Mike

and there are a couple buy-it-nows on ebay for $39. just search "transtalk"
