USB Modems not working on S8300 in a G350 cabinet

I have 2 sites that have S8300 blades in G350 cabinets. THe USB modems are configured but they have stopped working. When I dial into them I get "??????????????" or garbage. I have run the modem installation several times and have reset them both. Any ideas would be appreciated.I flashed upgrades to one and re-installed but it still doesn't work.

If you get junk when you connect you have a modem incompatability issue. Try turning off compression and error correction. Is your modem set to V90 mode? Change the settings then try again. The string to do this is unique to each modem. What type of modem do you have?

I am using an IBM THink pad Laptop with the IBM 56k integrated modem. I can connect using ppp to s8700 and s8500 without trouble - I only have the connecting problem with the 2 S8300 blades in a G350
