Urgent permissions error

So I'm working along in a db that I've had working just fine for upwards of four years, and in exiting a form I've used hundreds of times, no recent changes, I start to get all sorts of errors (which I foolishly didn't copy down word for word) along the lines of Unrecognized db format, can't find table or query XYZ, and some others.

I exit the db, try to get back in, and get "Record(s) can't be read; no read permission on MSysModules2". I ran JetComp, same error, rebooted PC (thinking I may have lost access to the drive) and still get the same error. I can access other files in the same directory, so it's not a network access rights problem. I tried importing everything to a new db, and get the same permissions error above a million times (once for each object, thanks--THAT was fun).

Running an A97 db with no security set whatsoever, on a Novell network drive. I am the ONLY person who's ever done any development on this db at all, and so far as I can tell, there were no other users at the time this happened.

Any ideas??

Many thanks in advance,

Ben

Difficult to say but you need to check the permissions on all of the objects in the database - it sounds like these have changed somewhere along the line. Either that or the account that is being used ("Admin"?) has been changed somewhere.

As there is no security set, other people can change permissions settings at will. Have fun!)

Unfortunately, I can't open the db to check any permissions, nor can I import stuff to another db.

Looks like I recreate the last two days worth of work.

Arrrrrrrggggggg!

If you did not mess with the system.mdw file you should not be having this problem. However, if you messed with the Sytem.mdw file, setting up security then you are no longer the sdministrator. You can try renaming your original system.mdw file to something like system.old then get a copy of a clean system.mdw and replace it on your system.
