Upgrading a 500v2

I have 5 systems to upgrade, can I choose to NOT upload system files and simply upgrade the 500v2's and reboot them?
Then, after the upgrades I can upload the system files at leisure.

It just takes so long to upload the files to the SD card it's painful, and there's a window of downtime for the reboots to occur.

Indeed you can, that's how I've done it for years. Each step only takes a few minutes.
I take it you are off-site, so the last run will take about 1 hour uploading all the files.

What method do you use to upload the files? recreate SD card in manager?

That depends, if on-site I pull the card and do the recreate on my laptop.
If remote, I upload the files during the last upgrade.

I let the phones get the firmware from the local webserver, not the SD card.

What version are you on now, and what is the destination?

I already have the file server set to Custom and the IP address of the manager/voicemail PC and have IIS running there.

Do you even have to upgrade?

Anyway, just run it directly from manager.

Yes, install admin 9.0.5> File> Advanced> Upgrade> make sure all box ticked> Run upgrade> Wait a bit> Proceed> grab a mugg of coffee.

Upgrade all systems first then, unticking the file upload, do the files later.
