Am on 7.6.300 Pervasive 2000. Need to get to 7.6.400a Pervasive 9.5. Can anyone suggest an upgrade path for a 1-time install? Is 7.6.400a compatible with Pervasive 2000?
I was thinking of doing Progression 400 upgrade first then doing Pervasive Upgrades because Pervasive Version 9.1 is supported with Progression 7.6.300 spC and higher only.
But the CD for 7.6.400 says it only supports Pervasive 9 and Pervasive 8.5. Not sure if I can upgrade to 7.6.400 with Pervasive 2000. Any ideas?

Pervasive 2000 is not supported with 7.6.400a but I do know that 7.6.400 "works" with Pervasive 2000. I upgraded a client to 7.6.400 with Pervasive 2000 and then upgraded them to the SQL product without any issues.

Thanks Scott.. That's what I was hoping to hear..

Just as an additional question...
Macola Registration file is Pervasive V9. It won't give me problems with my initial 76400 upgrade if my reg file is V9 and am still actually on Pervasive 2000, will it?

This is a sitsuation where the answer you are wanting and the answer that should be given is

NO

I love it when the answer is ......Sure you can do that and immediately become an unsupported platform.

What is the alternative for support when this path gets screwed?

Is your intent to stay on Pervasive?
Is your intent to move to SQL?

Scott,

If you have done this in the past then I would suggest you post the reg hacks and all required to make this run in this open forum.

If you were intending to not upgrade Pervasive in the same upgrade as their Macola upgrade, I would definitely agree with Andy. You should never run in an unsupported environment even if you can make it work for the time being.

In this particular case you have stated that you are upgrading both products in the same run. In this case it is perfectly acceptable to perform an upgrade where you transition between "supported" environments, provided that you have proper assurances and/or testing of the upgrade process.

That being said, I do not specifically know about your Pervasive 9 registration key issue. If you have an older registration key that allows you to upgrade to 7.6.400, I would suggest using this registration key. I would suggest testing the upgrade process prior touching your live environment. Please let us know if you need information on how to setup the test environment.

I should have explained better. I was just looking for a strategy to get off of Pervasive 2000. Was on 76300b and P.2000.Needed to get to 76400a and Pervasive 9. I was just looking for an upgrade path to get off of Pervasive 2000 (where need a minimum of 300c to upgrade to P9, so I couldn't do the Pervasive upgrade first.)

I was able to upgrade successfully to 400a and then do my Pervasive upgrade. Worked fine. Thanks for the help...
