I've setup an IP500 here in the US with 4.2 (17), PRI trunks. Any ideas on how I could twin both internal and external calls, with the ability for the user to switch it on/off using their 5420 set? I have mobile twinning licenses.

Thanks

For that User look in the Mobility tab in Manager, if you can't figure it out press F1 or the help button. Once done in there set the button on the 5420 to Emulation | Twinning, and that's how he/she controls things :-)

The problem is, it seems Mobile Twinning will twin external calls only. It works well, but the customer needs internal calls twinned, or at least forwarded, also.

Any ideas how to make this happen? Maybe some combination of twinning and forwarding?

Thanks

Have a look here, twinning is only internal or external not both at the same time. What you could do is create a Huntgroup put in the both extension and turn on mobile twinning.

So;

Create HG "sequential" say 200
put in extension1 201, extension2 202 (external twinning on)

Create a shortcode; *88/HuntGroup Enable/200

Then on 201 you can use *88 to turn on/off so when the user leave his desk he will get the call on the 201 if he won't answer the 202 ring with external twinning.

Thanks for the suggestion, but what I need is the calls from other users to twin:

Ext 232 calls Ext 244. Ext 244 has pushed a button on his phone (i.e. Twinning), so his mobile phone rings.

Later.....

The receptionist transfers an outside call to Ext 244. Ext 244 has pushed a button on his phone (i.e. Twinning), so his mobile phone rings.

Thanks!

That is how mobile twinning works
I think you did not setup it up well

Ouch!

So what you are so bluntly ;) trying to say is both scenarios should be working.
The external calls go through fine, the internal do not. I'll double check my settings.

Thanks.

Yes internal and external should work
Worked with it for a while
If "mobile call control" is used you can even turn twinning of with your mobile but must be setup right !

are the internal calls coming to a huntgroup or directly to the user?
There is a checkmark to twin huntgroup calls as well and another one to twin forwarded calls, check them both on and test again.
