Hi, I am having great problems trying to use a MM mailbox to light a Mitel phone light. The scenario is as follows:

1. a number is set up as a CDP which is routed to a pri route to the mitel, the mitel fwds if phone not answered to a MM box. This all works. The problem is how to signal to the mitel to turn on and off its lights. The mitel can be programmed for any number to signal turning on or off. Does anyone have any suggestions? thank you in advance.AJK

When the MMail is sending a voice mail notification to a remote site, a DCH message "NMS" is sent.
Do you see it going out your link? (LD 96 ENL MSGO XX)
Do you see it going in at remote site?

If it is a QSIG link between the Meridian and the Mitel you must also configure RCAP QMWO on your D-Channel.

Hi, no I dont see NMS. Is it possible to modify the pri or do I have to rebuild it? Thank you for your help.AJK

those parms (rcap) can be modified, the msdl card must be enl msdl x fdl, for the changes to happen

Hi John, thanks for the tip. I will try that in the morning. AJK

Hi, what ld to I modify the RCAP in? I am hoping I can just modify the pri rather than taking it down. Do I need to associate the NMS to a number (to trigger pre-programmed remote to turn on light) somehow? For example the remote programs in 12 and 13 to represent the light coming on and off. The numbers need to come from the meridian. Any help is appreciated and thank you. AJK

that is
load 17
chg
adan chg dch x

a little different command then most changes, you have to do a ld 96 dis dch x auto, before any change, that does not interupt calls in progress, but stops any new calls, unless you have a backup. you alos have to dis the card the msdl is on in 96, after the change, then enl msdl x fdl, that download in needed for the changes to take place

Thanks so much John, I will give it a go! Hopefully I get the lights working right on the mitel off the opt 11 and caller id to go through. Thank you, as always for your help. AJK

Hi, I have tried all of the above. When I tried to put the following in RCAP all went in well but the members would not come out of the MBSY state. Also, when it came to trying to add QMWO and QMWI they would not go in. Bell tried to help but they finally took out all of the RCAP except COLP. They didnt know what to do wrt caller id being sent and the lights turning on and off. All is back up now but still the lights on the remote end dont turn on and off and the callers info is not sent to the far end.

COLP NDI CCBI CCNI PRI DV3I CTI QMWI

I managed to get around turning the light on by having a CDP for a DID number route to the mitel then have the mitel forward to a mailbox on the option 11. I then under the light indication field on the MM, inserted 55then the original DID. I mapped the 55 to the route to go to the Mitel. The mitel configured 55 to enable the light on the phone. I cannot however do the same adhoc solution to turn the light off from the mitel when the mail messages have been answered. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you AJK

if you use qsig, it will work. 1st time every time

Hi John, apparently the reason the changes wont take is we have to upgrade 25.3 to 25.40b at the minimum. I am just writing this so there is some documentation. I was able to forcibly get some of the RCAPS in there but not all of them. Apparently the QSIG on release 25.3 is flaky. Have a good one.

hi, one more thing after upgrade to 25.40b patch 17158 is required
