Morning all. I've a user going on vacation for two weeks, and wants to know if there's a way to just have her mailbox not accept messages. Is there a setting that can accomplish this? Thanks In Advance.

If you have an Intuity Audix you should be able to have the user turn on their extended absence greeting. This will not allow a message to be left in the mailbox.

I've never heard of an extended absence greeting on an audix. Is this a new feature?

No, I'm trying to remember the code to turn this on. If I can find the instructions I'll add another post.

Extended Absence Greeting (EAG) is a feature that is available for AUDIX TUI users via the Application Menu. This feature requires a caller to listen to your greeting before leaving a message. It also notifies a caller that an EAG is active for the message recipient. See Aria
User Interface on Intuity Messaging Solutions User Reference Guide and Aria User Interface on Intuity Messaging Solutions At-A-Glance for more information
.

The system administrator can set the EAG to either “warning” or “block” for each user based
on class of service (COS). If set to warning, callers are required to listen to the greeting. It is then their choice whether or not they leave a message. If set to block, callers are required to listen to the greeting and are prevented from leaving a message.

You mentioned Aria, that's Octel. I'm working with an Intuity LX here.

Correct but it is mentioned and described in the Intuity Audix R5 documentation. I don't know if this feature is available on a LX....
