I am trying to get my newest member setup on a Remote IP phone (5621). When it goes through the process of trying to discover the IPO Control Unit, it stops at the Discover 192.168.42.1

I am using MultiTech RF830 RouteFinders on each end. I have established a VPN Tunnel between the two sites. I can ping the phone on the far end and the router on the far end. I am not able to see the IPO Control Unit from the Remote site. Can someone tell me how to make the IPO visible? I have created Packet Filters to allow every thing to see everything else accept the IPO. Is this an issue with the IP Routes in the IPO?

I should note that I am using an IP406 V2 - R4.0(5). It has two Digital extensions and one local IP phone - 5621 all working fine. I am trying to setup a remote user.

create an ip route in the ipoffice to your vpn router at the office
then it propably will work

I created the IP Route and the phone is connecting but there is not voice. I can see the connection in the screen. Is this an example of the compression type missmatch?

set a codec don't leave it on automatic
try to use 729
this setting doesn't need a lot of bandwith
alsosettingsin your vpn router can be the problem
if possible set QOS

You may be able to look in the Multitech and see if it is dropping ang traffic. No speech is usually an H323 issue.

I am using the MultTech RF830 and there does not seem to be QoS support for this router. I found a setting under the Extension>VoIP setting for H450 Support. It was set for H450. I changed it to none. Also, put H.323 passthrough support on the routefinder and it seems to have voice now.
