Transferring a Definity

Hi All, In the UK are you allowed to buy a second hand definity and use the licences as they were installed, IE we have a switch with 2800 RTU on it, can we legally use them or should we register it with Avaya, its an old G3si

The hardware is you're to do with as you please.

However the software/feature set is licensed and those are not transferable unless you have enterprise licensing. In those cases those are transferable from one system (you own) to another system (you own).


I doubt there is any situation in which you can by a Definity System and assume the licenses that it currently has enabled.
 
The only legal way is when a company entirely purchases another company which owns the definity. That said, there are a lot of systems out there Avaya doesn't need to know about.
