I am moving my users from a Audix that is two days older than dirt to a Octel Aria 350. My users now can transfer callers into voicemail using Transfer #0 Transfer. The Avaya people are telling me that this will not work with the Octel. Has anyone with a G3V11 and and analog Octel done this?

Thanks in advance
ED

Ed, Do you have the Octel/G3 config note to use? Is it enhanced dtmf-inband integration?

What software level is the O350?

Don

AT&T/Inter-Tel/Octel/Lucent/Avaya and now Adomo...does it get any better?? ;-)

DON Thanks For the reply! The system is a Aria 250 rel 3.11.05-1. As for the Octel/G3 config? What is this and where do I find it.

Thanks Again Don

There are (2) different documents available from the Avaya website that address Octel/G3 integration:

Digital intgration (uses TN754 boards):
ftp://ftp.avaya.com/incoming/Up1cku9/tsoweb/octel/config/cn5400.doc

Voice Bridge integration (uses analog ports):
ftp://ftp.avaya.com/incoming/Up1cku9/tsoweb/octel/config/cn5015.doc

The digital integration is the most current method. I'm not sure if Avaya supports the voice bridges any more.

This thread in the Octel Forum may help thread923-757652

In the future everything will work...

ED, what type of lince cards are in the O350? FLT-8? FLT-A?

The FLT-8 will be for standard/enhanced dtmf

The FLT-8 will be for set emulation

Don:
FLT8 using Analog ports off the G3

Thanks

If only a few people have to make these transfers, then there is an easy solution. Add the feature button:

goto-cover

All they have to do now is transfer to the extension, press this button and complete the transfer. By pressing the button, the system stops the ringing and goes to the next point in coverage (typically voice mail).

I use this trick all the time with our site admins for our field offices. If you don't have a free button, then the method in the Octel thread about using a mailbox type 33 also works well (but not as fast).

Ed, et al,

Looks like Avaya is not supporting the Voice Bridge anymore..

Fyi, all the support docs for the Octels are at
The O350 config notes are at
I see there is a note 4300 for the S8700 which should support your needs with analog ports. The TIC is the earlier Octel version of the FLT8 board. (I'm a VMX/Octel 200/300 TAC guru but familiar with the O250/350 as well)

I don't know what level of expertise you have but if there is anything I can help you with I will.

AT&T/Inter-Tel/Octel/Lucent/Avaya and so on and so on...does it get any better?? ;-)

The reason that "transfer to audix" using the FAC doesn't work is that this information is sent over the Avaya link, which isn't present with anything but Avaya(non octel) voice mail, and not all of those. The information that is sent over using digital station emulation or voice bridge are based upon what is on the display of the phone. This info doesn't give the information of the "transfer to audix". Neither does mode codes. So u are forced to do one of the work arounds listed above.

Guys: Thanks for all the Info. I think I will recommend the goto-cover option. It's a change but the best of all options.

Again Thanks to All for the Info.
