Hi all,
My network is as follows, Exchange 2k, Server2k, Windows XP, Office 2003, we have an external email host, that we use GFI Mail Essentials to pull POP3 emails to our exchange server.
Now for the problem.....
I have been having problems with my exchange server. The other day it was reported that people were not receiving emails. I checked out the host, and all was clear. I checked out the GFI monitor and it showed that emails were being pulled down from the external host, then I checked in the exchange system manager, and tried tracking messages sent to a user that is 'not' getting emails... and the track showed all emails that should have reached the user.
I went through a serious of things, fully updated windows update and outlook. It turns out that the only way that I could fix it was by either restarting all exchange services, or by rebooting the exchange server. This was worrying on its own.
But what is more worrying is that the same thing happened yesterday with just one user... I restarted the exchange services, then I rebooted the server, and she is still not receiving emails.
What is causing this, and more importantly, how do I fix this?
thanks in advance,
Mswilson
