Hi, i am trying to find out wich Ds1 boars are working fine and wich one not

i am not using some of thoes cards all i need is to know if that board will be useful for any new trunk installation

i know the command test board
but wich error will tell me that the board is not longer for usage
thanks

cgzz,

Test 138 will fail if the T1 is not connected or does not have connectivity. Look up the rest of the various test functions in your maintenance books or in the pdf file. Just because this test fails doesn't necessaryly mean you can use it for other purposes, maybe it should be working but it is having problems at the moment. Trust but verify...

you could also check the T1 logs.. at the command prommpt type: list meas ds1 log %%%%% % being the board location.
This would give you a look into the past 24 hours of the status of the circuit.

Thanks,

and is there any test that tells me that the board is no longer for service?

wildcard100001, How could we interpret the list measu ds1 command? Is there any guide?

Thanks

cgzz,

Not that I know of... I always have documentation as to which ds1 card goes to which NIU and the circuit in question. If 138 fails.. the circuit is not connected and not in service.

alberton,

check it..

ES: Error Seconds
BES: Burst Error Seconds
SES: Severe error Seconds - This one you can start panicing
UAS/FS: Unavailable Seconds
CSS: Controlled Slip Seconds
LOFC: Loss of Frame Count - This one; you run for your life, means the Trunk is completely down and disconnected.

This info taken from a dead calls post... using the tek-tips search... search for LOFC

Thanks,

Wildcard

My first thought would be to check the 'board failure light' on the front of the ds1 board, THEN do everything that all posters have mentioned.
The 'list measu ds1 xxx' command will only be useful on a working board with a connected trunk. Anything but a couple of errors is abnormal. If u have 'loopback jacks' installed u could do some testing without a provider connecting a t-1 to the card. U can see if the ds1 is set up for a loopback jack by looking at 'display ds1 xxx' and see if it says 'loopback power' yes.
