Hi, can someone please let me know if this is possible, if so HOW?

We have a simple server with Brightstore 11, a internal Ultrium Tape unit and 10 Tapes.

Currently the tapes are labelled "Day"Week1 & "Day"Week2.
a two week cycle.

Is there anyway we can set the job so when a backup is done the tape is actually labelled the new date, for example to would be "Monday 04 01 07".

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks

Roger

Set up a GFS rotation. Read the help on GFS and it will tell you how to set it up. You'll get the naming convention that you desire.

Simply blank the tapes and use an asterisk (*) as the tape name in the backup job - the tapes will be formatted with the date and time of the backup job when it runs.
