t7406 out of range

i have a cics in my house with 2 m7410's and and an analog cordless through the ata.I'm replacing the ata cordless with a T7406,i've mounted the base up on the wall (7') set the dip switch's to down,up and down. It works fine in the livingroom where the base is. As soon as I step into the hallway handset says "out of range". I thought T7406 it suppose to have better reception over M7410. Am I missing something, or did I get a dud? Help!

7406 has a range of about 200 ft. try moving the base station, there may be something in the wall where its mounted that is blocking transmision. Or you've got a dud.

read the installer guide for precautions while choosing a location for the transmitter ....maybe that'll help in increasing the coverage
