Hi all

we are looking at our Symposium Contact Center setup and it is on it's own workgroup.

is there a risk of adding it to our company domain? it would be easier for backups

what are the risk involved in adding to the Domain? is it an easy process?

regards
Mulder

Version dependent. What version are you running? Also dependent upon whether co-resident applications and which applications (CCMS, CCMA, CCT, CCMM).

Some of the general rules regardless of version:
Do not put in a container with all other servers as there are special requirements.
- only certain hotfixes may be applied
- certain directories/files should not be included in virus scans
- special instructions for shutdown/restart, especially on older versions.
- special time synchronization and daylight saving requirements (not to active directory source)
The best backups are done with the Symposium software. While it is good to backup the O.S. and other files and directories when making changes to the server (hotfixes, etc.), day to day changes occur in areas where the contact center backup tool is better.
