Switch terminal IDs?

Is there a way to switch terminal IDs without reconfiguring the entire Micros system? It started out as two terminals, one was eventually taken out of service (worked fine, just wasn't used). Now the one that has been in use has problems, can't get it to boot at all into WinCE, it is just stuck in a reboot loop. So I fired up the other terminal, it is a little outdated with menu items etc. but it works fine. But I can't do anything with it because when I try to do most manager operations it is searching for the other terminal. This didn't happen when the other terminal was the only one in use - it just worked "standalone" - but this second terminal seems to want to communicate with the first. Is there any way to change the second terminal to the ID (and functions) of the original one, so that I can use it as a standalone terminal?

Swapping the flash cards doesn't do anything for me, because I had already messed up the flash card on the first terminal when I was trying to get it to work again. So that flash card is now a duplicate of the first - both flash cards work to boot the second terminal, neither will work to boot the first.

This sounds like an e7 system, but I could be wrong. Can you be more clear about which system this is?
Either way, it should be pretty straight forward to just reconfigure CAL. It only takes a few minutes for it to update itself off of the server to what it needs to be.

Start -> Programs -> CAL -> Reconfigure CAL

And the password for it is.. hmm.. I don't really think about it when I do it, but First Number * Second Number + Second From Last Number? Sounds right...
Then just select the server, and then select the workstation you want it to become.

Thanks for your reply. Yes, you are correct - it is an E7 system (sorry for not mentioning that).

I had already gotten past this point, I figured out the CAL thing and was able to get the one terminal operating on its own. I had to remove any references to the second terminal in the workstation section of the Configurator - once I did that then the manager functions worked (end of day, etc.) Before they wouldn't work because the terminal kept trying to communicate with the other one to transfer its data.

Now I have this second terminal that isn't working that I am hoping to get going again. It was working fine, for whatever reason it just stopped booting. I've tried all sorts of things, like the factory restore; I even swapped out the RAM thinking maybe it was faulty. I was able to do a factory restore on the CF card using the other terminal, then putting that card into the non-working terminal - no go! It still won't boot - before it would just automatically reboot (stuck in a loop); now it gives the debug message and doesn't go any further. I know it is not the compact flash card because both cards that I have will boot the other (working) terminal.

Any suggestions as to how I can get it booting again? It is a WS5. I've found other threads about reloading the BIOS/software using a USB flash drive, but I can only find download links for the WS4.

Any further help would be appreciated.

Is it displaying any specific error message / codes? 'It won't boot' can be caused by just sooooo many things, heh.
