I have an associate with the following issue:

When printing e-mail from outlook express to a networked printer (directly connected to the network, not to a PC), the e-mail header prints just fine, but the e-mail contents are missing the first 2 characters on every line. Also the date/time footer in the lower right-hand corner is missing the last 2 characters of the line.

The same e-mail, with outlook express, on a different computer on the network will print without a problem.

All other print jobs from her computer print without any problems. Only e-mail in outlook express has this problem.

- Any solutions?

On the problem machine open Internet Exporer, File, Page Setup. Increase the margins slightly.

Why would Internet Explorer have anything to do with Outlook Express ?

Try it... that's where OE gets it's page setup info from.

Most applications have a Page Setup under File. You will notice that OE does not have this setting.

Thanks. It worked!

That was very strange, because web pages printed fine, but e-mail did not. Now they both print fine.

This seems to have worked for the same problem I was having in Outlook 2000 even though it has its own Page Setup.

I checked the IE page setup and it had no margins set on the problem PC, so even though Outlook had margins set they didn't have any effect.
