Static on Norstar

Has anyone experienced constant static on a Norstar phone when dialing out? All telco lines check ok. The static is not there when dialing from station to station. The static is not loud it is in the background but can be annoying. I have changed LS/DS cards and phones.

I have run into this and found that a different Line card fixed the issue. The static was pulsing, would fade back in and out. Had telco test lines numerous times, only to report that all lines tested fine. Tested and replaced all distribution wiring with no success.

End result was new Line card and clean/rewired cabling to the distribution blocks.

This problem endemic with all Norstars. Particularly the older Modular KSUs DR2, DR3, DR4 etc. I have found that different KSUs (therefore different processors) make a difference and sometimes not. The new universal truck card is supposed to clean up this issue. I have found it does for the most part. Annoying isn't it?
