I have been upgrading some pbx's to 5.5 and noticed I was getting some messages about ssh so I figured I would give it a shot. So I fired up putty and logged right into one of them with no issue using admin1 and admin2. Then I tried the other one and it keeps saying access denied. They are both on the same release. The only difference is one is a cs1000e with cppm and the other is cs1000m with cpp4 processors. Any idea what makes the ssh work? Is there something I am not aware of that is enabled on one switch that is not enabled on the other?

USe RLogin for 1000M's

Use username CPSID for Rlogin.

Yes I know about the rlogin but is the offical answer ssh is not supported on the 1000m? Seems odd because it connects and ask for username I just cant seem to find a user and password it likes? Seems I may just need to give ssh access to a user or something like that?

Come on Fletch you still around? I know you would know this.

Should work just fine! Possibly you are out of PTY ports or they are not defined on the the switch.

SSH is available on 5.0 and higher. Not a hardware dependency at all. It's in the software. Both cores are running VxWorks.
