Hi
we have been asked if we can supply a device attached to an IPO, to function as a doorphone
whereby the use presses a button, is asked to say the name of the person they need, and the name will be recognised and will call the relevant extension.

Sounds like trouble to me but any ideas? :)

Cheers!

Sell VM Pro and youre the man

Doorphone calls VM Module and use a whisper action

That's not going to work Cor, he wants it to analyse the recorded voice and determine a user from that and then dial/transfer to it automatically, an actual IVR :)

Duh, it is possible at a certain cost but I overlooked the "recognized" part.
I could only find this which claims to have speech recognition but how well it works?
Ring, ring, please enter the name you want to speak, "Harry", ok you will be transferred to Larry say yes when OK, NO, please speak the name to be transferred to, "Harry", ok you will be transferred to Larry say yes when OK and it rains like hell. good idea boss... can we have one for the back door too?

Thanks for the suggestions!

I will have a look at these, but I imagine the cost of any such solution will somewhat surprise the customer :)

Cheers

Buy a door phone with a display that lets you select who you wanna call instead =)
