Hi,
Is there the existence of a software package that I could load on a unix box and turn it into a voice mail system for a partnet plus??

I'm just curious [ponder]

Thanks Bob!!

Yes and no on the usefulness. I wanted to be able to load up a unix box with a voicemail product and use it similarily to the way the Partner system uses it. Basically to set up different mailboxes and to be able to retrieve the voicemails via the phone. It looks as though the Asterik system uses an e-mail attachment to deliver the voice mail.

Am I mistaken in that assumption?

Ken

Ken, I have not used it myself.
It looks to me like a complete software package, with voicemail. You will still need some hardware to interface it. Of course you could add enough hardware to make it your complete pbx not just your voicemail box.

Ohhhh I agree totally. However, I already have a Partner Plus system, and I just want voicemail. However, the prices out there for Partner voicemail are kinda pricey, so I am looking for a cheapy way out of it. And I have plenty of pc's around. LOL
