Softphone not working on R7

Hi there
i'm trying here to setup ip office video softphone for an IP500 V1 on R7, installed the software on my PC but he i can't login with my extension : it says unable to connect to the server, check your network connection and try again..
the IP Office is on the same network as my PC.
i have a power user license on my extension, i have enabled 'Enable Softphone HTTP Provisioning' and 'enable Softphone' is on on my user.
is there anything else i have to check ?

To login enter the username, did you fill in the password just below the user (default empty).

Yes i did,
the extension i want to login with is already logged on a 5410, is that could be a problem?
I have another IP Office V2 R7 (demo kit) on SCN with my main IP Office and the softphone is working fine there, and they are configured the same way!!
 
No problem with the firewall because i can login with the same softphone to the demo kit right away, i already gave full access to the softphone.

With video softphone it's supposed to log the 5410(or whatever) out and use the extn then log it back in upon closing, I have done it that way a few times with no issue :)

If I remember correctly I never used a login code on some occasions, either way the OP said he did enter the code. Not sure it would throw up the "unable to connect to the server, check your network connection and try again.." error anyway :)

well i created another virtuel IP extension and gave it power user rights and the softphone still give me the same crappy error:
i'm looging in with Name as a username and the password on the user, i'm not putting the login code.
i'm freaking out guys here.

I think it insists you enter one code but in fact checks the other, have you tried making the login code and user password the same :)

i tried that still same problem
i don't think it's a username or password issue here.. may be i'm wrong but can anyone please tell me what do i have to activate on the IPO in order for the softphone to be working ?

Have you also set a login code for the user. Even though it isn't used for the SoftPhone login it needs to be set.
 
Yes i did it's there i tried the same password as the one used for the user and tried different one but still reject me

Just set one up today on R7.. Power user. Password for user and login code for user. Softphone checked. 'Enable Softphone HTTP Provisioning' .. Works good.

can you ping the IP office from PC/laptop?

does sound like a firewall issue

 
Also you said you created a virtual extension.
You should not create an extension at all.
The softphone only needs a user.
The softphone will create it's own sip extension that will be deleted by the system when the softphone is logged out.

i disabled the firewall, yes i can ping it we re on the same subnet.
but i'm able to connect to the demo kit whose in SCN with my main IPO just fine, may be because they re on SCN, i can only login to one of them not both ?? i don't know
 
What version of softphone and IP office. Are both the demo and other unti on same version? Maybe Unistall and reinstall Softphone
