IS-IT--Management
I have a client with an exchange server setup in one of the local offices. Corp has deamed that the IPs to be used on the lan will be W.X.Y.Z . however these IPs are public IPs in use. I cant change this so please dont sugest that.
The headers of mail from this server are showing ip address W.X.Y.Z because this is the only IP known by Exchange or windows. The lan is behind a cisco router doing NAT on port 25 for inbound mail so everything worked fine until today. IP address W.X.Y.Z has been added to the DNSBLs (its a dial up number account in brazil).
What I need is a way for exchange to use the public IP assigned by the local ISP for smtp transactions, but I cant set it as the primary IP on the system or put this server live to the net as it is the only server for the office and has confidential info on it.
Im sure its just hidden somewhere, but there has to be a "use _._._._ IP for smtp" somewhere in exchange right?
Thanks for the advice...
