I have just installed a 2003 Server AD Domain with 4 XP clients (All standard Dell Kit). I have setup DNS on the server using the Manage My Server Wizard. DHCP addresses are given out by my ADSL router. I have set the DNS address to that of the server on each client in the TCP/IP properties as logons were taking several minutes however this problem has now been resolved by adding the DNS info to the clients.
When accessing any shared network directories on the server the browsing of directory tree is extremely slow and when you do open say an MS Word document it takes 10+ seconds to save when it is only say 20k in size.
There are a couple of 2000 Pro clients on the network with all operate at normal speed therefore the problem seems to be specific to XP clients.
Any help would be much appreciated.
