I am working on a Siemens Phonemail system model 7652 with software version 6.4.3. I received some errors in the TALog that indicated a nonrecoverable hard disk error, but when I look at the hderror log, I get a few valid entries then this -- "The 159 th entry in Cumulative Error File is not valid." -- which repeats all the way to the 511th entry. When I try to run ReassignBlock, it just tells me that the Cumulative Error File is not valid and cancels out. I circumvented the issue by running ScanDisk to identify the bad blocks, after which I was able to ReassignBlock. The system is working fine now.
My question is... how can I fix the problem with the hderror log? Can it be cleared? Fixupdatabase and fixvoicefiles did not resolve it.

Thanks in advance for any help on this one!!!

NO THE HDE ERROR LOG CAN'T BE CLEARED WITH THE TECH PASSWORD, I BELIEVE IT CAN WITH THE FACTORY WHICH I DON'T HAVE. I WOULD RUN THE SCANDISK A COUPLE MORE TIMES TO MAKE SURE YOU HAVE ALL THE BAD SECTORS.
I REALLY DON'T LOOK AT THE HDE LIST IF I SEE THAT I'M TAKING NONRECOVERABLE HD ERROR I NORMALLY JUST CHECK THE REASSIGNMENT IF THERE ARE ANY IN THERE YOU REASSIGN THEM
