WinXP Pro
I have a system that I recently upgraded from '98 to XP and everything runs great except for one problem. When I first went to shut down I got the old "It is now safe to turn off your computer" message. I then enabled APM in the power options and now when I try to shutdown it restarts instead - the only way to shutdown is to hold in the power button or unplug the pc.
I tried updating the bios to version 6VTA2707 - the newest I could find, but it did no good. I've seen this happen alot with old chaintech and some old HP boards - is there a work around for it? I've tried every combination of settings in the bios I can think of but nothing helps.
Thanx in advance.
