I have an Question about the short codes.

The custumer wants to use a 4 digit code to call to his other site. They have a lot of shops/sites witch they want to call with a 4 digit number. The only way to make this work is to make 1 short code for each number because all numbers are different.

So at this time I have 400+ short codes. the system is working fine but the Manager is verly slow and it takes a long time to program everything. Is there a way to make the manager faster or to program the numbers?.

We have an IP500 4.1(9) with 64 VCM channels, 2x PRI, VM Pro and SCN on 5 sites.

The "short codes" are speed dials (aka abbreviated dial)

short=abbreviated code=dial.

I still say creating a .csv is the best option as that would allow a receptionist or such to maintain the list which could then be re-imported into Manager without actually giving that person access to Manager itself. After all you are going to need a printed or electronic copy of that list of 400 numbers unless you have a really good memory. In fact I would bet you are inputting these numbers while reading such a list.

@erik:

If you do have a phonebook entry like this: Helpdesk 008001234.
Make a shortcode *800 008001234 ARS/linegroup.

Then export the directory and it will show:
helpdesk,008001234,*800
So it shows the directory and the shortcode!

Knowing the format you'll be able to fill the directory and the shortcodes in one import session.

Just a pity that from 4.0 onwards you'll have to manually edit the shortcodes to go to 50:main to get rid of the prefix 0 in this example.
