I know you can share the excel xp workbook, but how good is that? Do you have problems if someone enters data at the same time?
thanks in advance Thanks,
James

Hi Devilman, sharing workbooks isn't new to XP, it's been around. It works pretty well, although with heavy use we've seen some corruption problems. When you set up a shared workbook, more than one person can enter data into it at the same time. You can set options for handling conflicting saves (two people trying to save the same cells at the same time). Excel makes it pretty easy to set up, so give it a test run and see if it's something that would be useful for your particular situation.

I once had it enabled, but had problems (it wanted to replace what someone had save with my info.) I guess I was looking for the "Best" way to set it up, help isn't too helpful. Everyone is using Office Xp, and I turned on "Workbook" Sharing, what i was confused about was where it says "Conflicting changes between users" and below radio buttons "Ask Me which changes win" and "The changes being saved win". We are in and out of this worbook saving something (same sheet) every time, is this a efficent methiod, right now we have to wait for each person to finish(few minuites to a couple of hours.) Thanks,
James
