Several Problems with System

We have several problems. I think that it may have been due to an outage that we had in the area recently.

1. Some phones are completly dead.
2. When a caller calls in, I can hear them, but they can't hear me.
3. I can't access the VM system from one desk's extension, but when I goto another desk I can get to that VM from the other desk fine.
4. Can't access outside lines from several extensions.

I guess this is enough. Does this sound like anything anyone has heard, and if so, was there a quick fix?

I would appreciate any assistance.

Display alarms and check if there is any hardware out of service.

I think we need more details.
Like Keith asked, please check your alarm logs for anything suspicious. Also, is this happening all of a sudden?
Maybe it's just the cabling that's broke/disconnected on some stations, and the phones not able to access an outside line could be the wrong COR for instance (but I guess you already checked). Problem #2 looks more strange to me, allthough it *could* be a broken cable or mike nonetheless :) unless you only experience this on outside lines, and internal calls have no problems.

Anyway, let us know the details, and/or what you've already checked. BTW: even though it's not common for Definity, it is after all a big computer, and strange behaviour sometimes dissapears after a reboot (reset system 4).

Cheers,
Nico

I have a similar problem as you have in #2, but its outgoing. People I call say Hello and can't hear me for one or two seconds. Did you get any fixes?

We had several hardware failures. Our telecom people had to come out and reinstall hardware.

Hope this helps.

You may have lost some translations with the hardware problems that you had. Make sure that the extensions are programed in audix and in the switch. I have had this happen before.
