hi
maybe someone can clue me in on a couple of windows performance settings....
i looked at a buddy's computer today and in his config folder in msconfig he had some entries,they were
devise=c:\essolo.sys
shell=c:\command.com /p /e: 2048
shell=c:\windows\himem.sys
device=c:\windows\emm386.exe noems
dos:high,auto,umb
fileshigh=40
all of these had boxes with checks in them
he was running 98se it's a compac computer.he has 96meg of ram,and at boot-up he has 59% resources free..with the resources that low his computer was very responsive..Are these setting responsible for it's performance?
i don't have these setting in mine..
