I have a PC on our network. This thing is killing me. The mouse/keyboard are starting to give me problems. The keyboard will not type correctly. It also does strange things like hitting the "d" button gives the "space" function. Double clicking to open something gives you the properties. Please someone let me know what you think.

If it does not work right then don't use it [smile]
Seriously have you tested the memory, hard drive and keyboard/mouse?

I have checked those. The mouse and keyboard work on other systems. I have used other mice and keyboards on this system and they have all had the same problem. I've switched out the memory.

If you've checked for viruses and spyware and found none you might try reinstalling the OS otherwise it sounds like your motherboard is shot

What OS are you running?

I try not to let my ignorance prevent me from offering a strong opinion.

staboogie, can i suggest you do an online scan at trend-micro. They are professional, wont do any damage to your system. They pick up virus\trojans\worms that other, good programs miss, especially the trojans and worms as antivirus programs arent all that good at trojans and worms.
I know trend-micro has helped me out a few times when my antivirus said all was fine. I also run m\soft antispyware, spybot S&d, and other progs, but i still run a scan from trend-micro once in a while.
If you do so just do the first scan, not the other 2, they arent needed.
I suspect either you have a trojan or worm or a problem with the motherboard.
Also, if you have the motherboard drivers you could always try re-installing them.

Check the keyboard setting in Control Panel, as check the Unicode / Default setting.
I seen wierd ones like this when it gets set to Arabic or something non Latin.

Thank you guys for all your help. I'm user an A/B switch and it seems to be working fine. I dont know the cause of the problem, but I'm going to switch the user's machine later this week. So this should hold me over until then. Thank you again.
