Old Scanport SQ2000 was running okay on my Windows XP Pro. Have correct driver. Now, for some reason, the computer won't recognize the scanner. Any ideas please?

Hi Micker377 ... had problem with hyperlinks not working in Outlook and made some adjustments in Internet Explorer. That's about all I remember. With my W2XP Pro, I get auto updates now and then.
My PC just arrived this past month. Do you think it would be wise to re-install Windows from the CD that came with it? Perhaps my Registry settings are messed up. My desktop is no longer on the desktop either. Thank you.

If you right-click the Status bar, and click "Show Desktop" does it then appear?
I think an online Antivirus scan from both Panda and Trend Micro would be wise:
