I am trying to determine the correct IP address to assign a B1 Public interface on a SBC.
The setup is as follows
M1 = 10.1.30.90
A1 = Private side 10.1.30.91
B1 = 192.168.168.10 Public side of B1 = ???
I have a DMZ IP address assigned to the interface B1 of 192.168.168.10 however I am not sure what the Public IP should be set to.
I have an outside public IP address of (an example 123.45.1.252) but since I have a cable modem that has its own DHCP server for TV services in the house and it is between my firewall and the outside network my internal network sees my outside IP address that of which the cable modem is assigning my firewall which is 192.168.0.246. On the cable modem itself I have natting and all that disabled but I was unable to disable its internal DHCP server as the TV's need it for IP addresses.
My question is, should my B1 public IP address be my real outside IP or should it be 192.168.0.246 of what my network thinks is the outside IP?
OR should I leave it blank, it seems to have some interesting results on the traces with logging agents in.
