Is there any good docs on how to setup trunking between
S8300 MM720 & Video unit ( in this case its Polycom )
using 3 channels BRI Channels to an IMUX

Trunk grp 20 built as ISDN (protocol a )

trunk grp 20 (members)

002v201
002v217
002v202
002v218
002v203
002v319

Video tech has tried different settings of AT&T PTP ,
AT&T multi point I have reset MM720 as well
no data modular is attached or built

just curious as I have no working reference in the US to refer to and the only working ones are in Europe as I have no access to find out how those units are setup > fyi they are using protocol c in thier trunking .....any assistance
or helpful things to look out for I have looked at Avaya
website for an application doc or setup without much results

Thanks for any and all posts

cheers :)

ok so the header should say POLYCOM :)

Do you have any screenshots of the data module setup ?
as they are going to be 2 Polycom units using 3 channels each - for 6 channels per unit I am told ....In talking to the Polycom Tech he wants to see NI-BRI > built as NI-BRI
station without much luck > never came into service in
PBX
I reached out to Polycom without much luck also Avaya's
website shows it using ip trunking this is not the case here
what docs did you follow ??
To bad the windows are all sealed on the 10th floor
as I have felt at times today like jumping with my luck
I would bounce off the window and get knocked out.

Cheers:)

Good Luck, we have been told that the mm720's do not support video at this time. I have three systems I upgraded a couple months back from IP600's which did just fine with those old BRI cards. But never could get the 720's to play nice. We ended up going with a bridged polycom solution to IP back to the main bridge from our outer offices then hit a PRI from that main bridge.

I hope this is not the case as if it is I'm going to open the window and jump :) As I have been plugging at this for quite sometime kind of pushing the tide back so to speak

again Thank You for all the post gang this site ROCKS !

Cheers

The MM720 does support video and works fine with a Polycom viewstation. I have an S8300 w/ G700 gateway connected to a viewstation EX via a MM720 card. No problems. Just follow my instructions above and wire it correctly (see my FAQ) and the BRI's should come up.

Phoneguy
Is right on the ball ....issue was with wiring and setup at VC unit I have all 6 Channles up and in-svc able to call into both units - but get denial event 1367 when dialing OUT with units with BCC condition my route was to ITC set to Bothept which I think tells it to accept either 56k/ 64k calls I checked the event in maintenance pdf

not being called from Auth_code()DPM says digit analysisis done and we have Bear Capability Class (BCC)incompabilty

so as I see this its able to dial the string via ars and the
carrier is not allowing the DATA call outbound ??

did a 700 test and they have Verizon

Phoneguy
You get a Star for the day ....no the rest of the week
any way to send a long your Trunk Grp / route number used ?
as I am almost there .

and on the 7th day God created Phoneguy :)

Cheers

Change your route patten.

TSC = y

CA-TSC Request = as-needed

ITC = both

BCIE = ept

Phoneguy
I will give that a shot I had asked the Avaya Video Tech
about TSC & CA-TSC settings as he looked at his setup and said they were not used I was a litle confused as why we were just using ITC = both , BCIE = ept but I have to say he was real sharp & helpful on the Polycom settings for the
Tech on site doing the Polycom side .....

change settings to route .. but still get the error event 1367 called carrier and they said they accept voice / data calls into & out of ISDN PRI ...we can receive Video calls
into Polycom unit but I have done a trace on TAC and see the digits sent then hangup due to event 1367 > do a trace on data module and get the denial event 1367 which says incapatability with BCC

per Avaya docs : event 1367

not being called from Auth_code()DPM says digit analysisis done and we have Bear Capability Class (BCC)incompabilty

route pattern settings

BCC values 0 - 4 are set to yes
TSC - y
CA-TSC = as-need
ITC = both
BCIE = ept

am I missing something else as we can accept video calls
along the same trunking from multiple sites ( Avaya test
facilities who are not using TSC / CA-TSC values)

even tried calling the Polycom unit in the next room using the ISDN-PRI > so that calls goes out Trunk Grp A and back in on Trunk Grp A but still fails and gives the denial event 1367 saying option problem with BCC values

Cheers :)

On the trunk group form page 1. What is service type set to? I think you can only have sdn or cbc.

Service type : public-ntwork

If I changed that to CBC - call by call wouldn't I have to make a change in the route tables as well for CBC and in addition wellI think the carrier would have to change thier format as well ??

do you send all voice & data calls out the same routes or
make a different table for data - video calls ??

can you send a snapshot of the bottom half of route tables
just from the BCC values and below ?

Thanks again for the reply phoneguy

Cheers:

ayavauser

I send both voice and data out the same route.

BCC VALUE TSC CA-TSC ITC BCIE Service/Feature BAND No. Numbering LAR
0 1 2 3 4 W Request Dgts Format
Subaddress
1: y y y y y n y as-needed bothept none

It looks just like my setting .....although as you had noted could be my service type is the issue ....at least it a direction to go in as everything else looks good

cheers:)

ayavauser

I really think it is your service type setting on the trunk group form. Not sure if I would change that during business hours as that could be service effecting.

I would wait to after hours to do any changes to the "service-type" or at least until everyone off the Phones for a few seconds about 25-30 users but its a new site with to much traffic

Cheers:)
