Ran into a new and puzzling problem this weekend. We have a customer with an S8300 B(HW04 FW001) in location A and a matching system in location B.The customer as having coverage issues on site to site calls over IP Trunking caused by a version mismatch.Site A was a 3.1.4 and site B was a 3.1.2.We tried to talk the customer into upgrading site B to a 3.1.4 but he balked and this guy has been through a lot so we wanted to appease him.
Due to multiple issues we decided to re-load 3.1.2 from scratch and re-program from scratch as well. The system only has about 30 users.Evrything was going perfectly until we had to re-boot the server for something. Then we lost both media-gateways and the ability to ping the stack and mgp resources.
Basically the re-boot caused the IP "interface" of the S8300 to "lock up",for lack of a better term.We even tried to install the S8300 in the second gateway and the problem followed the S8300.Running a "configure server, individual services, set interfaces" cleared the problem, but we have a system that can not be re-booted right now.
For a nightcap we re-loaded the 3.1.4 to see if the problem could be a corruption in our 3.1.2 disc. The results were identical.
I was just wondering if anyone has experienced anything like this and if there are any known issues/fixes for this type of issue.
Obviously we are planning to replace the S8300.We are just not positive that this is the issue right now-just an educated guess. We have known problems with the G700 that the S8300 resides in as well.
Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
