In all the time I've worked with Avaya admin, I'm not too proud to admit that the manner in which calls are routed has always challenged me.

System is an S8500 - CM 3.0

We've sucessfully set up IP trunks between two offices in separate states and want to select a handfull of individuals to test them. From a phone, we would dial the 7 digit number to the other office, if an IP channel is availble call over that line, if not then route to our long distance trunks.

Can anyone summarize the steps involved to making this work for a few users, on the premise that it will eventually roll out to everyone? OR, a link to steps involved would be appreciated as well.

chan unifor xxxx change aar ana xxxx x being the 4 digit extension on the remote switch.

For example:

Matching Insert Node Matching Insert Node
Pattern Len Del Digits Net Conv Num Pattern Len Del Digits Net Conv Num

2905 4 0 aar n aar n

____________________________________________________________

Dialed Total Route Call Node ANI
String Min Max Pattern Type Num Reqd
2905 4 4 p120 aar n

Then chan partition-r 120 or what ever your test part-table will be. Enter a corresponding route pattern there. Then change the corresponding route pattern and add the IP Trunk there.

If you want only a select few folks using it. Change their COR, and give them a different time of day (8 maybe) and when you change your partition-route table only populate the 8th column with your router pattern info.

Then do a list trace, and give it a try.

Thanks,
CJH

Thank you for your reply. When this is deployed on a more company wide level, am I to understand that there will have to be a uniform dial entry for every extension at the remote location? Sounds like it could become an administration nightmare.
