Reverse DNS Question

I have 2 Windows 2000 Dc’s. One is setup as the primary DNS, the other secondary DNS.

I recently rebuilt the DNS servers. After the rebuild I had the following error on my clients when trying to do an nslookup:

Can't find server name for address 10.10.10.105: Non-existent domain

I have since figured out that I needed to create a reverse lookup zone.

I created a zone: 10.10.10.in-addr.arpa and set the Dynamic Updates to “only secure updates”. I now have only PTR’s for the 10.10.10.0 subnet.

My question is this...If I have just a 10.10.0.0 network, do I have to create a reverse lookup for each subnet?
Example: 10.10.10.0
10.10.14.0
10.10.15.0

Any help would be appreciated as I am pretty "green" on DNS.

NO,
and why don't you change to Active directory integrated?

You should only create zones for subnets you actually use. If no IP node is going to use it to resolve names, the extra zones just use recources and have no purpose at all.

winoto: Since he changed the zone to use Secure Updates, I reckon he is using AD integrated zones...

Don't think this was mentioned but make sure you have a pointer for the server in the reverse zone. NSLOOKUP will continue to complain until you do so.
