Requesting support for STMIX

"The STMIX board shows 'READY' in the Gateway Manager, and the IPGW has already been assigned an IP address. However, I can't access it via WBM or HTTPS://ip. There's no 'Running LW' displayed, but I can see an 'Available LW'. When I try to write it, nothing happens. What should I do next?"

"Just to add, I can ping the STMIX. Should I connect STMIX LAN1 to the same subnet as the Assistant?"

Off course the stmix' LAN port has to be connected to the network. If there is no router, you have to assign a IP in the subnet of the assistant to reach it with GW-manager.
Also upgrade the OS on the stmix with GW-Manager.

I'm running LW, but the available LW on Flash shows as empty. I've checked, and my network is definitely connected.

For some reason the STMIX is not reachable in the LAN. Neither OS nor LW can be determined. Also the lock symbol next to the pen is strange.
When you login to assistant via ssh, can you ping the board (192.168.206.200)?
Pls. post RMX config (DIS-BCSU,DIS-CGWB,TDCSU,etc.). Maybe the config is also causing a problem.

From what I remember, in V8, once BFDAT, BCSU, and CGWB were set up, HTTPS access was available right away. In V11, I currently have STMIX LAN1 connected to the assigned network within the same subnet.

I can ping it, but WBM won't open and the webpage isn't responding.

Here’s my current test setup.

Ahhhh... V11!
Afaik, there is a parameter that opens direct access to stmix. For security reasons this is blocked in default setup.
This explains lock symbol too, that I didn't see until now.

"I’ve already unlocked the lock symbol, but the issue is still the same. At first, I thought my system wasn’t installed properly, so I reinstalled it and tested again, but the problem persists. However, the available LW on Flash shows as empty."

I haven't tested this yet. I'm not familiar with SSH commands, but I'll give it a try.
Can u access stmix with ssh?

On stmix there is simply a linux os running, just like on host, assistant, soco, etc.
V11 runs OpenSuSe.

"I know it's a Linux system. Based on my past experience, it should work after installation and setting up the IP, allowing access via the web. But when I checked the forums, I found that my system shows 'no Running LW,' which feels really strange. I've already unlocked the lock symbol, but the issue is still there."

It seems, linux on stmix is somehow not ready. If you can login via ssh, u should be able to see status/repair it.

I tested it, but I can't access sdat3—I can only get into sdat2. Is there a command to check if stmix is running properly?"

If there is something wrong in the linux os, I would not spend long time in tryin to repair it. Official way is to reset the board - which means a new os installation.
This procedure is described in "OpenScape 4000 V11 Volume 4 IP Solutions Service Documentation Issue 13.pdf" in chapter "2.11 How to reset an STMIX board".

"I just updated STMIX to the latest version, but the problem is still the same. Looks like this is going to be a hassle. Could this be related to the license? Right now, I'm using the free 30-day trial."

There's nothing to suggest the STMIX has a problem here and I would not be looking to reinstall the OS.

STMIX has an active partition and a standby. Bootable OS is the active. If an OS upgrade has ever been done, the old OS in the standby. If you can't toggle to SDA3, then you've never done an OS upgrade. It's not a problem.

If dis-bcsu shows the STMIX is READY, then the STMIX is working fine. 4K decides that based on the backplane messaging. It doesn't need the lan port to go READY.

Connectivity from the Assistant to the STMI is not needed for telephony. It's a nice to have, really a should have. The Assistant is the supported method to upgrade both the loadware and the OS. The reason Assistant doesn't show the available LW is because it can't reach the STMIX over the network. So this sounds like a network issue or a config issue on the card.

If the STMIX is on a different subnet, then maybe you have some port blocking over the router so yes you could move the STMIX into the Assistant subnet, which is what you asked first. It's not required, but might help you find the problem.

Another way is to use the USB session you have there to start tcpdump on the STMIX, and try to browse to it. See if you get the packet, and if it replies. So if the STMIX interface is bonded (it is by default, no separate management interface) you would do something like "tcpdump -ibond0 -nn host a.b.c.d" and make a test https from your PC. Or instead of host a.b.c.d, you could use "port 443". You just want to know does it get the packet and does it reply.

In the Assistant, Access Management, Security Mode Configuration, you can restrict SSH and web access to the STMI under Application Access, and Gateway Security, so you should check it's not been tightened up in there, but with GW Manager not even showing the software versions, the problem seems more network related.

If you really must have the STMIX on different subnet, you can create a management LAN in CGWB (MANLANIF), and give it a 2nd IP such as something in the Assistant subnet, in which case the NICs will be de-bonded and and the top interface becomes the management IP, bottom one for VOIP.

If you expect a licensing issue, just have a look at HISTA messages and Assistant main page.
Afaik there are no extra licences needed for a STMIX board, at least not in V10. With V11 even the SLES-upgrade-protection lic's are not needed anymore.
