Hi all

we have setup VPN Gateway behind firewall/router supplied by ISP provider, the VPN tunnels are builted as well for PC clients, but when trying to connect remote VPN 9650 IP Telephone to the IP Office system behind this VPN gateway...we see that the tunnel from 9650 Phone to VPN Gateway is builted correctly and can get private IP address for registration with IPO but it displays "discover IPaddressIPO".

we have tried to open all necessary UDP port on the firewall for registration such as (1718, 1719, 1720, 5005...etc) but the issue is still here.

Please can anyone help us to figure out this issue ?

Thanks

Regards

We have test now with Softphone (Phone Manager Pro as VOIP Phone) installed on remote VPN PC Client, and it work fine...it can register to the IP Office and make calls.

everythings is working fine, but only the hard IP Phone 9650 provide issue to reach IP Office (always the same message: Discover xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx) after get authenticated through VPN Gateway.

Please any idea ?

Thanks

A softphone does not build a VPN!

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

so you means there is issue with the IP Phone 9650 that can't built VPN tunnel ?

Optman

I had a similar issue with a AVAYA 3050. I switched to a Nortel contivity and had no issue.
If I remember correctly the soft phone uses a SSL connection where the 96XX phones use IPSEC

I would suggest you try another VPN gateway.
Maybe something that has a Dev connect white paper.

Check my thread

It's only dialtone!!!

Thanks vztech for your reply

the issue was fixed yesterday, and the VPN IP phone can now register as well, so the VPN Gateway was configured correctly and also the Router ISP, the issue was fixed on the VPN Menu phone configuration (we have set "encapsulation to RFC 500-500" then it was working, so before we have put the "encapsulation" menu to "disabled")

Many thanks all for your efforts and support

Best regards

thanks Optman for letting us know, it will probably save someone else hours of testing.
