So I have ADD and im trying to work a few subjects. here is my latest issue. i have callpilot rls 4 and from what i can tell i am setup for remote support via a US Robotics modem. what i am looking for basically is what would i need on the pc i am attempting to remote from, and if there is anything I need to do on the server side (201i) before I can remote into it. I had read somewhere that i needed to have RAS running on the server first.
I found this thread798-1506165 and this works great from the local term but would like something for when i am away from this site.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all!

You should be running XP (not Vista) on your PC and have Java 4 installed, not Jave 6. Set up a Dial Up Networking session to the Call Pilot using your modem, with the NGenDist user and password. When connected, Open up IE and open the IP of Call Pilot (ex: You should get the Call Manager screen. Pretty simple to connect to.

DocVic

thanks for the info DocVic. assuming that this machine has never been on a public\private network and nothing has changed as far as software versions (ie java), i shouls have no issues?
I was verifying my server login info so i logged in via remote desktop on the maint PC. i opened an IE window an plugged in my CP admin address and it did not open. strange thing is now i cant get my regular session to open i keep up on the local machine. any thoughts?

normally when i come across an issue of this nature, i just reset the CP server but I figured since I know have access to the server itself, there might be an easier solution instead of resetting the server. thanks!

So i have gone ahead and tried what you had recommended DocVic but I error out stating that I was unable to connect. I tried trouble shooting and changed the network settings to allow a terminal window. I got what is usually there when I log into the server (except it was in a terminal window) but i was unable to log in there as well.
I don't have a an NGenDist login. I have NGenSys. Does it make a difference?
I know that the number I am using and the modem works for I am able to doal directly to it and have the modem answer.

Thanks alot!

I am having this same issue right now, I am going to try to install the drivers for my USR v.92 modem onto the 201i server.

yep. the callpilot is fully functional. i am trying to set up remote connections because I spilt my time between 2 local sites. one site is a CSe1km with a crytycal services management modem (still working on access for that 1)for the switch and a us robotics v92 for the call pilot.

my other site is a 11c w\mermail 8 that has a defective teltronics SEB and a TTY port that i removed and now cant add back in (that is another post i am still working on).

bottom line, i still cant remote into callpilot.

Yea I cant remote into my callpilot yet either... Will resume and try to put that driver on today.

Make sure dip switches 3, 5, 8 are the only ones down

I got mine working
