Vista is supposed to have made remote assistance easier with support for Nat devices. I have been trying to offer remote assistance between two computers one behind a Dlink router and mine behind a Linksys router.
I have port forwarded on both routers and when i edit the RA tickety i noticed that it uses a completely different port than the usual 3389.
The first ticket sent to me used 50100 the next 48900. I port forwarded both on the two routers (at least the person behind the Dlink says he did it as per my directions on the phone).
Shut off all firewalls and still no connection. They switched to dialup and no issues but when behind the router on his end no connection.
Downloaded and tried Radmin 3.0 and it worked ok, but not really a workaround unless of course i buy a multi user licence.
Any pointers on what i might be missing?
