Hi. Would anybody please know the way to recover deleted emails for 1 user?

Windows 2000 Server SP4, Exchange 2003

A sales manager deleted her about 1000 emails. How did she do it? Don't ask me... The oldest email dates to about a year ago when she was hired. What is the way to recover her emails?

Thanks if replies.

when did this happen?
what's your delete retention time?

It happened today. The delete retention time is 7 days, so
I was able to recover only a fraction of the deleted emails
so far.

Actually, I realized that I was able to recover only the files deleted thru " Empty Deleted Items ". The Exchange still sees the correct number of her emails (Total Items) in her Mailbox Store, but the size is only about 40k - the current mailbox size. What she says she did: "I do not know what happened, it
dissapeared".

take a look within Outlook. Go to deleted items. Then you can use Recover Deleted Items (either in Tools or Actions menu can't remember which).

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

Thanks. Thats what I did and was able to recover only emails deleted in the past 7 days thru the Empty "Delete Files" Folder command in Outlook; therefore, emails of no value.

Do you have a backup? Restore the InfoStore, Exmerge her mailbox out. Put back the newer version of InfoStore and ExMerge her data back in.

I hope you find this post helpful.

Mark

Thanks Mark. I'm going to look into this. I believe this
is the perfect solution.
