I would like to record a message to be ran while people are on hold. I do not want music, just a message that I can update weekly for our companys' specials so people can hear it. Can someone please help me out with this?

You need something that will play over and over, an old cassette comes to mind that just looped itself, but I am sure you can rig a CD player to start over at the end of the play also. Then just connect that to the MOH ports on the system. You would have to change the CD or tape when you wanted to change the announements but thats not a big deal.

This is a 10 minute job to complete. (some could do it in 3 or 4 minutes lol)

There's also a setting in programming you'll have to change. Under System Programming/Feature Settings, make sure that "On Hold" is set for Music. By default, it's set to tones.

I have switched to MP3 players these days. Low price, no moving parts, and easy to change recordings.

You could also get a digital announcer. It loads the CD or tape upon startup, then plays digitally thereafter.

And those are made to run 24/7.

The problem I've had with MP3's- They do burn out.

I use and like the Viking electronics Digital Voice Announceer as noted it is designed to run full time and can play some pre-recorded announcements with standard background music playing between announcements.
