Receive page through handset

I know in F983 under each MB you can set paging to - None/Set/SPKR/Both. I was assuming this was how it was received on that EXT. After setting it to Both, it hasnt allowed it to receive on the set so that field must mean the opposite, allowing that EXT to page over both.

Tried searching the forum and Google but to no avail. Where in CONFIG(I'm assuming) hides the ability to receive a page over a handset? We dont have any special paging system set up. To page over the phones, F62 is button programmed(External I believe). Ive searched throughout F981, F983 and the CONFIG settings and I guess I have over looked it. I know the system used to do it on certain sets here before our backplane replacement and reprogramming but never figured out how or why.

what are you trying to do, page thru the sets make sure that all the phones are in the same paging zone or try F630 for all zones

Paging works, its all on zone 1. I want to receive a page that is going on the handset/EXT as well as it broadcasting to the Speakers.

Feature 630 as stated above is what you want, or at least it sounds like it.

Before the reprogramming, it was set up with F62 as the page and it worked through certain handsets that were programmed to do it. not sure how they had it set up before and dont have ht programming backed up to look.

63 and the zone# might help.

i.e.
F631 to page sets zone 1 and external speakers.

Ok, that explains why I couldnt find much documentation on F630 mentioned above, because F63 is Combined Page + the Zone #. So.... If I put all the handsets I want to receive page in say Zone 2, and page F632, should be good to go.

Thanks Curly for explaining and norstar and PHXAZ for telling me what to do before but I wasnt catching on. Ill give that a shot.

Zones for overhead speakers, groups for phones.

F62 is external page to go over speakers. Try F631 this will page phones in zone 1 and external.

Zones for phones, no such thing as groups.
Overhead speakers is just one zone you could say.

However 3rd party amps will have a zone module and its own code to use.
