"Identifier Not Assigned" on unused ports

I have a G3si V6 that I need to add 6 new extensions. All of my unused ports say "Identifier Not Assigned" whenever I try to add a station or even 'disp port 01axxxx'. The TN746B cards/ports appear in Hardware Mgr., and 'l circuit-packs', so the system sees the cards and ports, just can't use them. 1 TN756B card has ports 2-8 available and in use, but not 1 or 8-16, the other card I get "Identifier Not Assigned" on all 16 ports.

I've tried:
busy the card, reset, release
moving the cards to different slots
thinking capacity issue, I deleted some extensions, no good, but was able to re-add the extensions I deleted back on their old ports, also 'disp sys cust' says I have 1500 port capacity.
swapped cards with known working ports, both ways, all cards and ports are good
beat my head against the side of the cabinet, got a headache

My next step is a 20 lb. sledge hammer, so any help before that happens would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Rich

I can help, but you will have to contact me and allow me in your system.

Unfortunately, remote access was never set up, and (long story) probably won't be, even now

analog line on v-sl (violet-slate pair) of aux cable is all you need to allow remote access. You can borrow a fax line or use a DID analog station from the pbx

It's more of an "upstairs" decision due to their security concerns (paranoia).

I see. Buying a new system will be much more secure.

Well, that idea got shot down...But, I have found that if I use the "Add User" wizard instead of "add sta xxxx" in GEDI, it works fine. Odd FM but I got a work around at least.

sounds like you may have some data corruption, try a reset system 4 off hours and see if this resolves the issue
