I inherited a router from a team we took over for, and it's been running swimmingly. While doing some network research yesterday, I noticed the router has

ip name-server 212.113.0.3

loaded as a command in the running & startup configs. I did a WHOIS on it, and it said "EUROPE-SERVICES-LOOPBACK, description: 'sexy ip addresses"

Anyone have a clue what that means? I don't even know what an IP name server is.

ip name server is a DNS server.
the ip address is from Level3, hostmaster, ISP.
if you have your own isp you can use their dns servers.

CCNA, CCNP..partly ;)

Thanks MTandSAV, that's what I needed to know
