I have three IP Office control units at seperate sites. What is the correct way to network them together? What kind of WAN connections should be used?

I currently have a VPN built between the sites using some sonicwall devices. I have a mixture of T-1 / E-1 / Ethernet over copper. Some days the connections work fine and others voice breaks up alot. Sometimes I can call between sites extension to extension but distributed huntgroups will not setup calls. Also as far as reporting goes I am having trouble because alot of packets get dropped. I can see missed packets constantly in Monitor. The packets would contain call event data that my reporting and realtime software then misses.

I am trying to avoid the cost of a MPLS or VPLS networks. I have no peers to discuss these matters with. Any feedback is appreciated.

I haven't done a lot of them and there are people here far more experienced. I would first look at the VPN and make sure you can prioritize voice and put some type of QOS in place. You need to make sure necessary ports are open. There are several and a document is on line that states what they are. SCNs work real nice once you calm them down.

Others here can comment far better than I , but you need to be sure all the basics are in place, there aren't conflicting (same) extension and hunt group numbers on the systems, also on the VoIP line tab that you have all setting consistent such as "direct media path" being checked or not checked at all locations depending on the setup.
